How does home tutoring work?
The benefit of home tutoring is that you don't have to travel; Michael can come straight to your home, or meet in a convenient nearby public location, e.g. library/community center, coffeehouse, etc. Please note that for home tutoring of students under the age of 18, a parent, guardian, or family member over the age of 18 must be present at home during the tutoring session; if this is not feasible, then meeting in a convenient public location can be arranged; or a skype session (or similar) can be arranged.
One-on-one tutoring is always tailored to a student's needs and interests, but usually begins by looking over any specific questions brought by the student, as well as problem assignments or examinations from the past. Much of a tutoring session involves a brief review of current and/or challenging material, but most importantly followed by time working together on current assignments — Michael's job is not to add to your student's academic workload! By working together through actual assignments, Michael can gauge your student's proficiency in handling the material and identify potential problem areas as they come up, moving on to help review for examinations.
Michael's aim as a tutor is not only to help your student raise his or her grade / test score, but to achieve a level of comfort and proficiency with material that will be useful for mastering future subjects as well.
"I am committed to getting the best results for my students and will stay with them as long as they need me."
